While this is a Canadian event, I promise my fitfam around the world that you’ll be inspired and find great resources on these web site and apps!
It is my pleasure to be a part of it again this year along with you, my wonderful colleagues. This year’s National Physical Activity Day will also give you the opportunity to speak out about the importance of fitness to the health of your community and the role you play as a professional in our industry.
I had the enormous pleasure of participating in the event in 2019 in front of the Supreme Court of Canada, and in 2020 virtually on YouTube. This year I am offering a workout to my family and neighbors in a park near my home, following the guidelines for my group of 8. I am committed to demonstrating that no protocol or closure will prevent me from serving those who need me to support their physical, mental, and immune health!
I encourage you to organize an event in your community on Saturday, June 5, such as an outdoor or virtual workout. Despite limitations on event size, we hope to see many communities and industry professionals hosting small events in their communities or online. To register your event, go to www.gympass.ca . In less than 5 minutes you will have registered your event and you will benefit from publicity, recognition and visibility by being featured on the application and the web page.
Resources are available through the official website including, but not limited to: lesson plans for class and group workouts and a checklist for your event, promotional videos, and social media scripts and templates to help fitness professionals set up and run their event.
